I've been pretty busy this week due to finals coming up and finishing the semester, but I was able to do a few things for my Thesis.
- First I created a Wiki for my Thesis and started adding some information to it. I plan on using this as a quick reference for my work, and to also post information about my project in a place suitable for public viewing. http://code.google.com/p/icarus-uav-system/wiki/Home
- I've been working on using XPlane. I plan to use it to simulate my QTR UAV including using it as a graphical piece of a HIL simulator. I plan on basing this on the existing ArduPlane HIL Software, located here: http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/Xplane
- Finally, I'm pretty happy with the control equations I figured out to map the Input/Output relationships for the QTR. Here they are: http://code.google.com/p/icarus-uav-system/wiki/FlightControls
Next Week
Although I have finals this week, here are my plans for what I'd like to work on the rest of the week:
- Continuing my Lit Review on my critical aircraft, looking for common failure modes, lessons learned, etc.
- Continue with my XPlane Simulation.
- Start figuring out how to determine design parameters, such as: Wing Area, Airfoil, Angle of Attack, etc.
